Dress Code
Hair
Hair must be pulled back and secured tightly for all classes. For ballet, the hair must be in a bun. Jazz, hip-hop, lyrical and all other classes, hair must be secured back and up. Students will be asked to leave to fix their hair if it is not appropriate and does not meet dress code. Please have every student looking clean, neat and put together. To be a dancer we must look like one first.
Dance Attire
Attire requirements differ per class. All female students should have their hair pulled back out of her face and be free of distracting jewelry for all classes.
Ballet/Pointe
Dancers will need a solid black leotard and pink or black tights only. Canvas ballet shoes are required for performance. If you have your own shoes you may wear these in class but are required to purchase canvas/leather shoes before show time so that every student is the same.
Tights
Must be worn in ballet class. If tights have a run or hole, they must be changed. We have plenty of tights for purchase. Students will not be allowed in the room with holes in their clothes, or inappropriate attire on their body. Distractions for all can disrupt the dance class. Leggings or booty shorts may be worn for all other classes if the students wish to not wear tights. All body parts must be covered and concealed to promote healthy bodies and minds.
Jazz & Tap
Dancers are required to wear either a solid colored leotard, any color tights or a tank top with tight dance pants, dance shorts, or dance skirt. Color and style of jazz shoe will differ in level and must be purchased before performance time. Most likely, dancers will need tan jazz/tap shoes.
Pre-Combo
Dancers are required to wear a solid colored leotard and tights. Pink, black, or tan tights are permissible. Tight dance pants, skirts and tutus are allowed for these students. Pink ballet slippers and tan tap shoes are worn for performance.
Lyrical
Dancers are required to wear a solid colored leotard, any color tights or a tank top with tight dance pants, dance shorts, or dance skirt. Socks or “Foot Undies” will be worn during class. Shoes for performance will be determined at a later date.
SADC is more than a dance studio. It's a place where students (and their families) practice discipline, community service, friendship, and so much more.
